DESCRIPTION:Illinois Valley Community College’s Diversity Team sponsors two presentations in November for Native American History Month.\n\nAdjunct instructor and local author Heinz Suppan presents “Remember Indian Creek! In the Shadow of the Black Hawk War” at noon Wednesday\, Nov. 14 in Room CTC124.\nSuppan will discuss the Black Hawk War and how the treatment of Native peoples led to a tragedy that could have been avoided. \nChief Gerald Savage of the HoChunk Nation and member of the Bear Clan presents “A History of Native Americans in the Illinois Valley” at noon Monday\, Nov. 19 in Rooms CTC124-125.\n\nSavage is an IVCC alum and La Salle Elementary school board member.\n\nThese events are free and open to the public.
