SPRING VALLEY – One person has been found dead in a house fire in Spring Valley. Spring Valley Police and Fire Departments were dispatched shortly after 3 am Friday morning to a structure fire on Dover Drive on the west side of Spring Valley. Officers found the residence completely engulfed upon arrival. After working the fire for several hours, with aid from LaSalle, Cherry, Oglesby, and Dalzell Fire Departments, the fire was eventually extinguished. Once fire fighters were able to enter the residence, they located one victim who was dead. A dog was found deceased in the residence as well. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The fire and death remain under investigation by the Spring Valley Police Department, Spring Valley Fire Department, Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Bureau County Coroner’s Office.
