Illinois Valley Community College’s Adult Education office will offer free Adult Basic Education (ABE), High School Equivalency (HSE) and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes beginning Monday, Aug. 20 at both the Oglesby campus and Ottawa Center.
All Adult Education offerings are free to students who qualify for enrollment and classes fill quickly. The complete schedule for ABE/HSE and ESL and citizenship classes can be found at www.ivcc.edu/adultedschedule.
All new and returning students interested in enrolling in ABE/HSE classes this fall are required to sign up for and attend one pre-registration session. Main campus sessions are held Mondays, July 9-31 and Ottawa Center sessions are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, July 10 through Aug. 1.
Adult Education Specialist Cindy Lock said, “We encourage students to call beginning Friday, June 1 to set up their pre-registration time but we’re available to answer questions and connect with future students before then.”
