Lawrence O. “Larry” Richards, 84, of Streator passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026 in Streator.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 16th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Saturday, May 16th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be, Tom Bradley, Tana Danko, Tim Bradley, Dave Finney, Layton Finney and Daniel Danko. Honorary pallbearers will be, Matt and Pete Williamson.
Born June 21, 1941 in Streator he was the son of Irl and Agnes (Schunke) Richards. He married Patricia Funk on June 25, 1960.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Richards of Streator; a daughter, Teri (Tim) Bradley of Streator; grandchildren, Jamie (Pete) Williamson of Streator, Kristie (Dave) Finney of Streator, Tom (Kayla) Bradley of Streator and Tana (Daniel) Danko of Streator; great grandchildren, Matt and Mara Williamson; Layton and Ava Finney: Bradlee, Lyla and Wynder Danko; a sister, Darlene Buchanan of Streator; nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jerry Lee Richards who passed on September 5, 1983; and sisters, Penny Lou Best and Mary Ann Richards.
Born and raised in Streator he attended Streator grade schools and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1959.
He worked for Thatcher’s Glass Company as a Foreman in the hot end for over 30 years until his retirement.
He was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
Larry enjoyed golfing along with his wife Pat at Twin Creeks through the years. They also spent many years camping in Olney. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and especially tending to his garden.
