  Barbara J. Bandura, 85, of Streator passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026 at her residence in Streator.

  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the Solom-Telford Funeral Home in Streator.  Fr. Francis Strong will officiate.

  Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home in Streator.

  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Streator.

  Born November 6, 1940 in Streator, she was the daughter of William and Margaret (Connor) Ryan.  She married Francis L. Bandura on August 26, 1961 at Immaculate Conception Church in Streator.

  She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Katherine (David) Schierenbeck of Hudson, Ohio, sons, Brian (Jamie) Bandura of Wadsworth, Ohio, Michael (Kimberly) Bandura of Glen Ellyn; grandchildren, Kiersten (Eric) Schierenbeck-Snyder, Dan Schierenbeck, MacKenzie Bandura, Nathan Bandura, Samantha Bandura, Taylor Bandura and several nieces and nephews also survive.

  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William R. Ryan.

  Born and raised in Streator, Barbara attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School, Class of 1958. She was a mother, a homemaker and worked in accounting at Red Wing Foods until her retirement in 1998.

  She was of Catholic Faith and an active member of Immaculate Conception and St. Michael the Archangel Church.

  In her youth, Barbara enjoyed dancing with Ms. Hupp, working at the Majestic Theater and ice skating. In the later years, Barbara was a devoted mother and grandmother, never missing a family event. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, researching her Irish heritage, and traveling to visit loved ones. Barbara will be remembered for her devotion and deep love for her family. She will be greatly missed.

  The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Shari Wonders and her team whose compassionate care and dedication brought her comfort and peace.

  Memorials may be directed to St. Michael the Archangel Church in Streator, Illinois.
