Leslie M. “Luke” Lucus, 85, of Streator passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 at the ARC at Streator.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 28th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Wednesday, May 28th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery, Long Point, Illinois.
Born March 3, 1940 in Long Point he was the son of Eldon and Mabel (Lucas) Lucus. He married Judy Gass in October of 1963. She preceded him in death in 2019.
He is survived by a daughter, Wanda (Randy) Schmitt of Streator; grandchildren, Ryan (Katie) Schmitt of Streator and Kayla Schmitt of Streator; great granddaughter, Remiyah Peterson; and a brother, Larry (Margie) Lucus of Winchester, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his step-father, Bill Jennings; his step-mother Avery Lucus; his step-sister, Annette Liptak; and step-brothers, Lonnie Jennings and Billy Joe Mainor and brother in-law Russ Gass.
Born and raised in the Long Point area he attended Woodland School.
He worked for Mayou Roofing for many years until his retirement.
He enjoyed boating on the Illinois River, building and operating remote control model boats and a cold beer.
