STREATOR  – Electrical upgrades for Heritage Park are being considered by Streator’s city council. According to city Manager David Plyman, there’s been requests from locals about increasing amp service at Heritage Park. He says the city has had issues with lighting in the past, noting that current service is coming from traffic signals. Mayor Jimmie Lansford says amp service should not be tapped in to the street lights, however the expense might not be worth it for how much the park is used. Plyman says he will look into how much it would cost to upgrade to 40 amp service.
