SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Transportation says lanes that have been closed for construction will reopen where possible for the Independence Day holiday to minimize travel disruption. In LaSalle County, lane reductions will continue on Northbound Interstate 39 north of Lostant, Illinois 170 at Ransom will remain closed as well as U.S. 52 east of Troy Grove. Detours will be posted. In Livingston County, lane reductions continue on Interstate 55 around Pontiac. IDOT is suspending non-emergency roadwork from 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, to midnight Sunday, July 7, after which construction will resume.
