WATERMAN – Two LaSalle County Residents are dead after a Wednesday crash between a semi-tractor trailer and a pickup truck. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office say that just after noon on Illinois Route 23 just north of Perry Road a pickup truck traveling southbound for unknown reasons reportedly crossed the center line and struck a northbound semi-tractor trailer. The driver of the pickup, identified by the DeKalb County Coroner’s Office as 29-year-old Alica L. Work of Earlville was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, 44-year-old Robert E. Henczel, of Streator, later succumb to his injuries after being take to a hospital in DeKalb. The driver of the semi-tractor trailer was treated and released. The crash is still under investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s and Coroners Office.
