STREATOR – Sewer and repaving projects are in the works for Streator this year. In a city council meeting, a bid was approved of from Universal Asphalt and Excavating in LaSalle, to install storm sewers and separate sewer basins from south Illinois Street on Bridge to Lundy Streets, extending into the Coal Run Creek interception project. City Manager Scot Wrighton reminded council, that a portion of Illinois street, from Main to Lundy Street is yet to be resurfaced specifically because the sewer project needed to be done. City Engineer Jeremy Palm says the sewer project is likely to take 2 months and immediately after will follow through with asphalting the remainder of Illinois Street.
