STREATOR – The Streator woman who was shot and killed in the 200 block of 9th street has been identified. According to the LaSalle County Coroners Office 33-year-old Maria M De la Torre was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital in Streator. In a statement Wednesday morning, the Streator Police indicate three are in custody in relation to the death. The Dwight Police Department on Wednesday afternoon was still searching an area near Old Rt 66 and Rt 17 west of the Dwight looking for evidence related to the Tuesday shooting.
Funeral services for Maria De la Torre are tentatively set for 12 P.M. Monday at the Elias Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. A visitation will be 10 A.M. to Noon at the Elias Funeral Home.
